Dr. George (Chip) Morris

morrrisDr. George (Chip) Morris is the Director of the Regional Epilepsy Center at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. A prior Professor of Neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Morris completed his medical training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center followed by an internship and Neurology Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin -- Madison. After completing his Epilepsy and EEG Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Morris remained on the faculty as a clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology and a member of the University of Cincinnati Comprehensive Epilepsy Program until 1990 when he joined the faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1995 and Professor in 2001. He was board certified in Neurology in 1989 and Clinical Neurophysiology including EEG and Evoked Potentials in 1991.

Dr. Morris developed the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin and now St Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee and been involved in an active clinical trial program involving pivotal trials for the new anticonvulsant agents. He has created the components of an active surgery program with well over 200 temporal lobectomies completed in the first 10 years.

Dr. Morris is involved in a number of research areas including neuroimaging with magnetic resonance spectroscopy and functional MRI. He has developed, with others, a group of centers involved in post-marketing assessments of new anticonvulsants and is actively involved in assessments of new technologies including the Vagal Nerve Stimulator.
